Increased SDLT for non-UK residents purchasing residential property
The Government’s consultation on its proposals to increase the amount of stamp duty land tax (SDLT) paid by non-UK residents on the purchase of residential property in England and Northern Ireland closed today (6 May 2019).

Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) – are you up to date?
From 1 March 2019 the time period for filing and paying SDLT in England and Northern Ireland will change from 30 calendar days to 14 calendar days following the effective date of the real estate transaction. Interest and penalties may be applied if the deadline is not met.
